LituanicaSAT-1 was a CubeSat I worked on part-time during my second-year of university after a successful internship at Space and Science Technology Insititute of Lithuania. I worked on this project remotely and contributed modestly to some of the GPS/GLONASS data comms stack.
Overall it was a monumental project to Lithuanian aerospace industry, it being the very first satellite the country ever launched. LituanicaSat-1 was a 1U standard CubeSat size sat that was launched by a team in National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 2014. It was deployed from the International Space Station into low-earth orbit where it gathered data and conducted several pre-planned experiments. The project helped to develop infrastructure and know-how for aerospace technology by interdisciplinary interaction between academia and industry in Lithuania.
